‘Independent Living’ will equip participants with practical skills needed for successful independent living and self-sufficiency.
The course consists of 9 sessions and features interactive and engaging activities, making it ideal for ages 14-18, although it can easily be adapted for other age groups. Flexible delivery options are available to accommodate different settings.

- Financial Independence: Where to start financially when setting up a home, managing money, and prioritising expenses.

- Self-Care: The importance of maintaining personal well-being and looking after yourself.
- Home Maintenance: How to look after your home, stay safe, and handle situations when something breaks.
- Community Involvement: Why and how to get involved with your community, and the importance of having support.
- Support Systems: Identifying areas where support might be needed and where to find it.

You will receive one printed session guide for a tutor, enabling them to lead the course. You will also receive a resource book and progress tracker for a young person. If you plan on running the course with a group of young people, you can purchase additional books here.
